So, tragedy has struck with my project. She broke down on the way to
work. At first it seemed like she overheated (I had just hosed off the
leak, so I thought it didn't go as smoothly initially). Sure enough her
radiator was almost dry, and amazingly enough, a tattoo customer I
worked on at my old shop pulled over, gave me a gallon of water and
antifreeze! It was very appreciated. The problem was obvious when she
was cooled and refilled and she wouldn't start. My phone died and no one
had answered my texts because they were at work, so I pretty much froze
for three hours before my cousin came to my aid. Fears were confirmed
when checking the oil and antifreeze was found. Luckily I have towing
insurance on her and got her home by 7.. 6 hours after I left for work.
We had complications even with the towing.. she is too low to the ground
and too long to tow properly... but we made it home slowly but surely.
Had a really nice chat with the guy in the towtruck. I've yet to look at
her as I'm on a hypothermia watch (yay), but I'm hoping for a broken
head gasket.. not looking forward to my options if the block is cracked.
Yet another adventure with Persephone.
